Is Bono a Plastic Beauty?

The guy who never needed any help with his music career, is probably seeking a little help to conceal his signs of ageing.

Bono, the U2 frontman, was recently at the Tribeca Film Festival to promote the film We Are Together. In the middle of the event, a seven-year-old child named Mtho Moya, who had reportedly acted in the film stepped over and removed the singers tinted shades, revealing his relatively wrinkle-free eyes. The kid charmed the singer, who let him wear his orange tinted sunglasses.


The singer, who is never seen sans his trademark shades, had much fewer wrinkles and less baggy skin around the eyes, sparking rumors of cosmetic surgery.


The entire cast of the flick We Are Together, which highlights the hardships suffered by African orphans, joined Bono at the film festival with the ace singer.

The charity of the philanthropist is not restricted to supporting the orphan documentary as he recently helped raise 15 million when he appeared on a special American Idol, with a few other celebs to raise money for charity.

Theory predicts aging process in DVDs

Polymer glasses are versatile plastics widely used in applications ranging from aircraft windshields to DVDs. Researchers at the University of Illinois have developed a theory that predicts how these materials age. The theory also explains why motions at the molecular level can have macroscopic consequences.

"Glasses, including polymer glasses, are essentially frozen liquids," said Kenneth S. Schweizer, the G. Ronald and Margaret H. Morris Professor of Materials Science at the University of Illinois. "They appear solid, but because they are frozen liquids, the molecules continually undergo small motions that lead to a time dependence of properties".

Three years ago, Schweizer and graduate student Erica Saltzman developed a theory that described the transition upon cooling of a polymeric material from a liquid to an amorphous solid or glass. The theory explained how the viscosity of a polymer glass changes dramatically over a narrow temperature range. The researchers reported that work in the July 22, 2004, issue of the Journal of Chemical Physics.

Now, in the April 20 issue of Physical Review Letters, Schweizer and postdoctoral research associate Kang Chen present a theory to describe the aging process in polymer glasses. Sienna’s Puppy Love

Sienna Miller is a real pet lover and she never lets an opportunity slip when it comes to engage in playful activities with those little pups.

During a film shoot in London, the 25-year-old actress seized the opportunity when she chanced upon a playful puppy.

Sienna had a nice time with the pup and gave it some tummy tickling while the lucky dog enjoyed every bit of it.

She made that dogs day.


The beautiful actress, who owns two mongrel pups, Porgy and Bess, definitely enjoyed her shooting break with the playful dog.

Naomi’s Stilettos in Demand

It had to happen and it happened. Naomi Campbell’s name spells success and the latest incident revolves around the famous pair of 650 stilettos that the supermodel wore when she reported on the first day of her community service last month.

Naomi was punished for assaulting her maid with a mobile phone and was subjected to a variety of tasks as a part of her week-long community service at the New York Sanitation Department.

But the supermodel turned her wfull fledged fashion week , with an array of labels including Chanel, Prada and Ralph Lauren. But the person who benefited the most from this was designer Christian Louboutin who designed the famous high-heeled boots that Naomi wore on her first day.

As Naomi said:

On my first day I wore a Ralph Lauren coat, a cashmere shawl and Christian Louboutin boots. Christian got twelve hundred orders from that day. He wasnt going to make those boots now he is.

Christian Louboutin would never have expected the amount of curiosity his boots were able to create, but anything goes in this fashion crazy world and if Naomi is there to endorse it in her unique style then success is sure to follow.

The 36-year-old supermodel however says that it was a not a deliberate act, and she was forced to do it because her limo was not allowed inside the premises. She told:

It wasnt planned but then I was told I had to walk past the cameras.

Naomi, we believe you.

Faster Music, Movie Downloads

Carnegie Mellon University computer scientist says transferring large data files, such as movies and music, over the Internet could be sped up significantly if peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing services were configured to share not only identical files, but also similar files.

David G. Andersen, assistant professor of computer science at Carnegie Mellon, and Michael Kaminsky of Intel Research Pittsburgh have designed such a system, called Similarity-Enhanced Transfer (SET). By identifying relevant chunks of files similar to a desired file, SET greatly increases the number of potential sources for downloads. And boosting the number of sources commonly translates into faster P2P downloads, Andersen explains.

How much SET could speed up downloads varies based on many factors, including the size and popularity of a given file. In some cases, SET might speed transfers by just 5 percent; in others, it might make downloads five times faster.

The researchers, along with graduate student Himabindu Pucha of Purdue University, will present a paper describing SET and release the system code at the 4th Symposium on Networked Systems Design and Implementation, April 11 in Cambridge, Mass.

"This is a technique that I would like people to steal," Andersen said. Though he and colleagues hope to implement SET in a service for sharing software or academic papers, they have no intention of applying it themselves to movie- or music-sharing services. "But it would make P2P transfers faster and more efficient," he added, "and developers should just take the idea and use it in their own systems"......... Paris Hilton Dating Josh Henderson

Public canoodling of Paris Hilton and Josh Henderson makes it very clear that the two are going very strong as a couple.


The hotel heiress and the Desperate Housewives actor were seen leaving a cinema on Los Angeles’ Universal City Walk on Monday night. The two were holding hands and Paris even gave him a good night kiss before she got into her SUV.


Last week, Paris, 26, invited Josh, 25, to sister Nickys bash for her own boyfriend David Katzenberg, son of the movie mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg. The two also partied together at Las Vegas on the weekend.

Paris publicist Elliot Mintz denied any dating reports and said,

Matters of that nature are only the business of the two people involved. Josh treats Paris with great respect and dignity. He is not a ‘Hollywood guy’. Paris seems very comfortable around him.

Meanwhile, Paris is busy filming The Simple Life series with pal Nicole Richie.

Hugh and Jemima Are Together Again?

Handsome hunk Hugh Grant and sexy Jemima Khan are together again, as both were seen together having a friendly dinner in the West End before recurring to the actor’s townhouse.

Hugh and Jemima had split this February but it seems that the couple has decided to make things work between them as Jemima was seen coming out of Hughs house with a smile on her face.

Sources say:

There is absolutely no acrimony between Hugh and Jemima. There was no major falling-out when they split and definitely no third party involved which means there’s absolutely no reason why they can’t be friends. They planned this reconciliation meal a couple of weeks ago. It was a chance for a catch-up and a giggle with no strings attached.

I guess its not far to see both back to their quixotic relationship.

Mr Bean's Holiday.

"It has long been a mystery to the British, who consider Bean to be, at best, an ignoble secret weakness, that Rowan Atkinson's repellent creation is absolutely massive on the Continent." London Times critic Wendy Ide is rattled to hear that Cannes Film Festival director Gilles Jacob is a fan. Mr Bean's Holiday nods not only in Tati's direction but also "appears to be littered with art-house movie references..... What really riles here is not so much the plagiarism (although shame on you all) but rather the fact that the stolen sight gags - Bean overtaking Tour de France cyclists; Bean in drag to evade a road block - are simply not as funny with Atkinson at the controls."

After the Wedding.

In what appears to be the celebrity non-event of the year, Elizabeth Hurley got married to Indian businessman, Arun Nayar, in an English castle.

Hurley used to be one of my favorite people, for the usual prurient reasons, but lately, as she vied for bitch of the world honors she became turnoff to me.

Still, I guess I have to give her credit for having a classy affair, no Paris Hilton type shenanigans for example, but then I wouldn't have expected that with a guest list that included Elton John, and Hugh Grant. Yes the perpetual wedding attendee, Hugh Grant was there, to keep the intensity level low.
