Windows Mobile Gets Killer Application

Windows Mobile Gets Killer Application
Here is a joke for you. How do you make a Windows Mobile smartphone better? Make it a BlackBerry!

I know, it's funny because its true. Windows mobile has never truly inspired me. I tried a Blackjack, and I hated it. I had an HTC 8500 smartphone - yep, I hated it. I was constantly tweaking it and modifying it in hopes to make it what I wanted. Apparently, the fine folks at Research In Motion had the same idea. They have released the BlackBerry Application Suite for Windows Mobile-based Devices.

RIM has made it possible for WinMo users to experience all that BlackBerry has to offer on a number of Windows Mobile 6.X devices. The application suite amounts to virtualization software that allows a user to experience the BlackBerry email, phone, calendar, address book, tasks, and browser. Now, admittedly, there is no reason to use the BlackBerry browser, but the email and phone client are pretty spiffy.

So, if you have been considering ditching your Windows Mobile phone and heading to a RIM device, be patient. Try the BlackBerry Application Suite and see if the glass is really greener on the other side. If not, you can always buy an iPhone.
