3M Pico Pocket Projector is Coming Soon
You might just be looking at the next big tiny thing in computing. This is the first of what is sure to be an onslaught of mini or pico projectors. This one, the 3M MPro110 mini projector, has VGA or composite inputs and is capable of projecting a reasonably large image in a dark room. It would be great for turning a iPod, PS3, or portable DVD player into a ad-hoc home theater.
The word on the street is that it is a bit dim, but it is pocket sized. The review at Popular Science states that in a "dark room" the image is sufficient, but it sounds like you would not want to rely on this type of product (at least for now) for a high-def, high-quality home theatre set-up. Also, this unit does not have a speaker so it my be better with headphones or simply for presentations.
The MPro110 mini projector will land in the US on September 30th. The best part is that it will only run $359. For the convenience and the gee whiz factor, this price sounds like a steal.
