Why don't kids walk to school anymore?Maybe when we were their age, we walked five miles to school, rain or shine. So why don't most children today walk or bike to school?.
It's not necessarily because they're spoiled, lazy or over scheduled. As per a University of Michigan researcher, concerns about safety are the main reason that less than 13 percent of U.S. children walked or biked to school in 2004, in comparison to more than 50 percent who did so in 1969.

New findings from Tibetan Plateau suggest uplift occurred in stagesThe vast Tibetan Plateau--the world's highest and largest plateau, bordered by the world's highest mountains--has long challenged geologists trying to understand how and when the region rose to such spectacular heights. New evidence from an eight-year study by U.S. and Chinese scientists indicates that the plateau rose in stages, with uplift occurring first in the central plateau and later in regions to the north and south.

Let me just say this: To me, the comments made by Sen. Barack Obama's spiritual adviser, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, are pretty innocuous.
